Moms always want the best for their kids. No mother wants to see their child suffering, and many parents have been advocating for the eradication of bullying in schools. However, this is a fairly recent mindset, and many parents were (and still are) the source of many insensitive comments their children get:

The negative effects of body shaming can be even worse when it comes from inside our homes and families. Standing up to our parents can be hard, but it’s important we learn to establish boundaries with our family. Intimacy shouldn’t give parents a free pass to say whatever they think about our bodies. Instead, it should be used to teach our kids how to love and care for themselves.
